Why Mentorship

Leadership is learned beside someone who has led.

Every brother deserves a mentor. Every mentor leaves a legacy.

The Brotherhood Mentorship Program connects generations of Illinois Epsilon brothers through intentional, meaningful mentoring relationships. Experienced brothers invest in undergraduates who are leading now, and undergraduates gain perspective a classroom cannot provide. The result is a chapter that grows stronger as each brother raises his own bar.

“Mentoring is one of the most effective tools for personal and professional development, as it is completely individualized and based on the mentee's current situation and needs.”

A Call to Lead

Undergraduate leaders carry meaningful chapter responsibility and benefit from experienced brothers who have walked the path before them.

Career Readiness

College provides academic education. Mentorship adds real-world perspective, leadership development and optional professional guidance.

Balanced Man

The Balanced Man Connection

Mentorship is how the Balanced Man Ideal is practiced rather than described. Sound mind, sound body and sound character are developed through honest conversation, follow-through and accountability with a brother who has already carried the weight of leadership.

Sound Mind. Sound Body. Sound Character.

Leadership, accountability, judgment and personal development are how a brother grows toward the Balanced Man Ideal — and mentorship is where that growth is practiced.
